Telangana: In a fiery speech delivered at the ‘Telangana Jana Garjana’ meet in Khammam district, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Telangana government and its ruling party, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Gandhi accused the BRS of being the ‘B team’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), playfully referring to it as ‘BJP Rishtedaar Samithi.’

Gandhi went on to claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wields control over Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, asserting that the state government acts as a puppet under the BJP’s remote control.

Highlighting the upcoming elections in Telangana, Gandhi declared that the battle would be fought between the Congress party and the BRS. Drawing a comparison, he likened the Telangana BJP to a car with four punctured tires, suggesting their weakened state.

During his address, Gandhi expressed his belief that K Chandrashekar Rao considers himself the king of Telangana. Accusing the chief minister of rampant corruption, Gandhi alleged that Rs 1 lakh crore had been pocketed from the Kaleswaram project during his nine-year tenure. Furthermore, Gandhi criticized KCR for supporting the BJP during the farmers’ bill protests in Parliament, stating that this demonstrated his alignment with the ruling party at the center.

Gandhi pointed out that the BRS had encroached upon land that was originally allocated to Dalits, Adivasis, farmers, and the backward communities by the Congress party under the leadership of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Promising to rectify this, he pledged to restore the land to its rightful owners, garnering enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.

One of the key announcements made by Gandhi was the Congress party’s plan to provide a pension of Rs 4000 to senior citizens and widows if they came to power. Emphasizing the welfare of marginalized communities, he also promised to allocate Podu land to the Adivasis.

Reflecting on the Congress party’s victory in the Karnataka elections against a “corrupt and anti-poor government,” Gandhi expressed confidence that a similar outcome would unfold in Telangana. He envisioned a contest between the rich and powerful on one side, and the poor, tribals, minorities, farmers, and small shopkeepers aligned with the Congress party on the other. Drawing parallels with Karnataka, Gandhi predicted a favorable outcome for his party in the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana.

In conclusion, Rahul Gandhi’s scathing attack on the Telangana government and the BRS party underscored his accusations of their alleged collusion with the BJP. Alongside promises of land restoration and a pension scheme, he rallied the crowd, expressing optimism for a Congress victory in the upcoming elections.

K Kavitha, a prominent leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and daughter of former CM K Chandrashekar Rao, was recently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. This development comes after the agency, along with the Income Tax department, conducted searches at her Hyderabad residence.

K Kavitha Arrested

The arrest of K Kavitha, who serves as a member of the legislative council (MLC) from Nizamabad, has stirred controversy and political upheaval. The ED’s allegations suggest her involvement in a ‘South Group’ accused of paying kickbacks to Aam Aadmi Party leaders in exchange for undue benefits under the now-defunct Delhi excise policy.

Despite the ED’s claims, Kavitha vehemently denies any wrongdoing, labeling the notices against her as “Modi notices.” Her arrest has sparked tensions, with her brother K T Rama Rao and cousin T Harish Rao engaging in a heated exchange with ED officers during the search proceedings.

This recent development adds to the political turbulence surrounding Kavitha, especially following her party’s loss to the Congress in the November 2023 Assembly elections. Once a prominent figure in the Telangana separate state movement, Kavitha’s political career faced setbacks, notably her defeat in the 2019 elections to BJP’s Dharmapuri Aravind.

Despite challenges, Kavitha remains a significant figure in Telangana politics. Her journey, from winning the Nizamabad Parliamentary constituency with a substantial margin to facing electoral setbacks, reflects the dynamic nature of politics in the region. As she navigates through these legal and political challenges, Kavitha’s actions and decisions continue to shape the political landscape of Telangana.

In conclusion, K Kavitha’s arrest by the ED marks a critical juncture in her political journey, with implications reaching far beyond the confines of Telangana. Stay tuned for further updates on this evolving story.

Bakaram Village, Moinabad Mandal, Rangareddy District – A perplexing case has emerged surrounding the tragic death of a young woman, whose charred body was discovered near the Dream Valley Resort in Bakaram village four days ago. The victim has been identified as Tahseen (22), a young Muslim woman from Mallepally.

Local residents stumbled upon the horrifying scene and promptly alerted the police. However, the circumstances surrounding Tahseen’s death have taken an unexpected turn, raising questions about the initial assumptions of foul play. The police, after delving into the investigation, now lean towards the possibility that Tahseen might have taken her own life.

Tahseen, a recent graduate in search of employment, was known for occasionally leaving home after disputes and returning within a day or two. This time, however, the unexpected tragedy occurred. As the police delved deeper into the case, Tahseen’s family filed a missing person report, adding a new layer of complexity to the investigation.

Authorities have seized the cell phone found at the crime scene and are scrutinizing it for crucial information. Additionally, CCTV footage from the area is under examination. Notably, the auto-rickshaw driver who transported Tahseen to the location has been apprehended, and efforts are underway to recover call records from her phone to establish possible connections.

While the family’s missing person report indicates suspicions of foul play, the police are inclined to consider the possibility of suicide based on the evidence collected thus far. However, an official announcement is yet to be made.

In a concerning development, it has been reported that the Habibnagar police may have acted negligently in this case. Tahseen left her residence in Mallepally on the 8th of this month, and her brother lodged a missing person complaint on the 10th. Surprisingly, the Habibnagar police have yet to register a case, prompting the Commissioner of Police to intervene. The Commissioner has expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the matter and is reportedly contemplating disciplinary action against the negligent officers. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited to shed light on the mysterious circumstances surrounding Tahseen’s untimely death.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Kavitha expressed joy over the realization of a longstanding dream for millions of Hindus—the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. In a Telugu post on X, she highlighted the auspicious moment when the idol of Sri Seetharama Chandra Swamy would be installed in Ayodhya on January 22, underscoring the significance of the event for Hindus across the country, including Telangana.

Kavitha, the daughter of BRS President and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, shared a video showcasing the ongoing construction of the grand temple. This statement marks a notable shift in the party’s stance, particularly following the recent loss of power to the Congress in Telangana.

Political observers interpret this change as a potential indication that BRS might align itself with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), drawing parallels with the JD(S) that joined the NDA a few months after facing defeat in the Karnataka Assembly elections alongside the BJP.

In the context of this development, BJP supporters recalled previous statements by BRS leaders, including KCR, K.T. Rama Rao, and Kavitha, on the Ayodhya issue. Some took to social media to share video clips of past speeches, underlining the evolving dynamics within the party.

During election campaigns, KCR had previously raised questions about the Babri Masjid demolition. At an election rally in the Nizamabad Urban constituency, he pointedly asked about the culprits behind the demolition and criticized the Congress for allegedly exploiting Muslim sentiments for electoral gains. The BRS chief emphasized the importance of consistent secularism and questioned the sincerity of political gestures claiming to counter hatred.

Having governed Telangana for two consecutive terms, BRS ceded power to the Congress in the recent elections, where the Congress secured 64 seats out of the 119-member Assembly. BRS secured the second position with 39 seats, while the BJP won eight seats.
