In preparation for preventing protesting farmers from entering the national capital, Delhi Police received firm directives from a senior officer on Tuesday, urging them not to adopt a defensive stance if faced with aggression from the agitators.

During his visit to the heavily fortified Singhu border, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ravindra Yadav emphasized to deployed personnel and paramilitary forces that allowing farmers to breach Delhi’s boundaries would undermine their entire operation.

Yadav stressed the importance of a strategic response, advising forces to prioritize their safety while dealing with aggressive protestors. He emphasized a need for proactive measures, stating, “If they approach aggressively, our response must match theirs. We cannot afford to retreat in the face of aggression.”

Instructing the use of tear gas and batons for crowd control, Yadav acknowledged the potential for prolonged confrontations, stating, “This may persist for a day.”

The primary objective, Yadav reiterated, is to prevent farmers from disrupting law and order or resorting to violence within Delhi. Numerous farmer associations, primarily from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, had called for protests on February 13, demanding legislation to guarantee Minimum Support Price for crops, with some converging towards Delhi as part of the ‘Dilli Chalo’ movement.

Delhi Police has enforced section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure across the city and fortified its borders extensively, employing surveillance technologies like drones and CCTV cameras for monitoring.

Yadav expressed confidence that if farmers realize they cannot breach Delhi’s defenses, they may opt to gather near barricades. He assured personnel that allowing protestors to gather at barricades was acceptable, emphasizing it as a policy matter subject to government decisions.

Furthermore, Yadav stressed the importance of coordination among law enforcement units, advising the formation of cohesive teams with clearly defined roles. He underscored the need to maintain unity and prevent vulnerabilities that could be exploited by protestors attempting to breach Delhi’s defenses, emphasizing the risk of failure if any weak points were exposed.

Yadav also outlined a strategy for rotating exhausted teams, ensuring continuity in operations. He emphasized the necessity of a backup team equipped with logistics to sustain the operation effectively.

Congress Questions PM Modi’s Silence on J&K Terror Attacks

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi says the country demands answers on why those plotting against it are not being caught under BJP rule.

The Congress party has taken a strong stance against the BJP’s declarations of peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. This came after three terror attacks in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda within three days, exposing what Congress describes as the BJP’s “hollow” claims.

Congress Questions PM’s Silence on J&K Attacks

Rahul Gandhi, a prominent Congress leader, voiced the nation’s demand for accountability from the BJP. He questioned why those plotting against the country have not been apprehended under BJP’s rule. Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being preoccupied with congratulatory messages instead of addressing the grievous incidents in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X, Gandhi lamented that while PM Modi celebrates, the cries of the victims’ families go unheard. He emphasized the severity of the recent attacks and the prime minister’s apparent indifference. Gandhi’s remarks highlight the increasing concerns about security in Jammu and Kashmir under the current government.

Congress leader Pawan Khera also criticized the prime minister’s silence. He noted that PM Modi seems to have time to respond to Pakistani leaders but has not addressed the brutal terror attacks. Khera condemned BJP’s boastful claims about restoring peace in the region, pointing out that the party did not even contest elections in the Kashmir valley, which he sees as evidence of their failed policies.

Khera highlighted the rise in terror incidents, particularly in Rajouri and Poonch districts. He asserted that national security has been compromised due to the government’s complacency. Innocent lives are at stake, and yet, according to Khera, the BJP continues with “business as usual.”

He recalled a horrific attack in Reasi district on a bus filled with pilgrims from the Shiv Khori Temple to Katra, resulting in nine deaths and 33 injuries. Khera stressed the need for the prime minister to offer sympathy and support to the victims’ families, which has been conspicuously absent.

Further, he pointed out another attack in Kathua, injuring a civilian, and an encounter in Doda where six security personnel and a civilian were injured. According to officials, terrorists fired at a joint checkpoint of the Rashtriya Rifles and police, indicating a serious lapse in security.

Khera accused PM Modi of being more interested in responding to congratulatory tweets from Pakistani leaders than addressing the terror attacks. He questioned why the prime minister has maintained silence on the issue and highlighted the increasing terrorist activities in the Pir Panjal Range, Rajouri, and Poonch areas, which have resulted in significant military casualties over the past two years.

Khera underscored that at least 19 major terror attacks have occurred on security installations under the Modi government, resulting in numerous fatalities. These attacks have targeted CRPF camps, army camps, an Air Force station, and military stations, among others. He also pointed out the Modi government’s controversial decision to invite the ISI to investigate the Pathankot attack in 2016.

Highlighting the Modi government’s track record, Khera mentioned that there have been 2,262 terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir under their tenure, leading to the deaths of 363 civilians and 596 jawans. He concluded by questioning the BJP’s commitment to national security and demanding a more proactive approach to addressing the ongoing threat of terrorism in the region.

The Congress party’s criticism underscores the ongoing debate over the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and raises questions about the effectiveness of the BJP’s policies in ensuring peace and stability in the region.

Narendra Modi, having taken the oath as Prime Minister for the third successive term, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his admirers for their unwavering support in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. On Tuesday, Modi made a notable request, urging his admirers to drop the slogan ‘Modi Ka Parivar‘ from their social media profiles.

Modi took to the micro-blogging site X and said, “Throughout the election campaign, people across India added ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ to their social media profiles as a sign of affection towards me. This gesture gave me a lot of strength. The people of India have given the NDA a majority for the third consecutive time, setting a record, and have entrusted us with the mandate to continue working for the nation’s betterment.”

‘Modi Ka Parivar’

Modi highlighted the unity and collective spirit of the Indian people, stating, “The message that we are all one family has been effectively conveyed. I thank the people of India once again and request that you now remove ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ from your social media profiles. The display name may change, but our bond as one family working towards India’s progress remains strong and unbroken.”

The origins of the ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ slogan can be traced back to March of this year, during the campaign period for the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. In response to a remark made by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav at a rally, where he claimed that the Prime Minister “does not have a family of his own,” BJP top brass including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda, added the ‘Modi ka Parivar’ slogan to their X handles. This move was seen as a demonstration of solidarity and support for Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister’s appeal to drop the slogan comes at a significant moment as he begins his third term. By asking his supporters to remove the slogan from their profiles, Modi seems to be focusing on fostering a more inclusive and united national identity. His message underscores the importance of moving forward as a collective unit, emphasizing that the true strength of the nation lies in its unity.

Modi’s leadership has often highlighted the significance of unity and collective progress. Throughout his tenure, he has stressed the need for all Indians to work together towards common goals. This recent appeal aligns with his broader vision of an inclusive India, where every citizen feels a part of the nation’s journey towards development and prosperity.

The Prime Minister’s message also reflects his awareness of the power of social media and its influence on public opinion. By requesting his admirers to drop the ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ slogan, he is likely aiming to shift the narrative towards a more inclusive and less personality-driven discourse. This move can be seen as an attempt to transcend the cult of personality and focus more on the collective efforts needed to drive the nation forward.

Modi’s tenure has been marked by numerous initiatives aimed at economic growth, social development, and technological advancement. His leadership has been characterized by ambitious projects like the Digital India campaign, Make in India initiative, and various schemes aimed at uplifting the underprivileged sections of society. As he embarks on his third term, there is a renewed focus on sustaining these efforts and introducing new policies that can propel India towards becoming a global powerhouse.

The Prime Minister’s call to drop the ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ slogan is also indicative of his intent to foster a sense of national pride and identity that transcends individual affiliations. By emphasizing the idea of one unified family, he is advocating for a stronger, more cohesive society that works together towards shared objectives.

As India moves forward under Modi’s leadership, the emphasis on unity and collective progress will likely remain a central theme. The Prime Minister’s recent message is a reminder of the importance of working together, regardless of individual differences, to achieve the nation’s aspirations. His call for removing the ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ slogan from social media profiles is a step towards promoting a more inclusive and unified national discourse, reflecting his vision of an India that stands together as one family, united in its diversity and committed to its progress.

In conclusion, Narendra Modi’s request to drop the ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ slogan from social media profiles is a significant move that underscores his commitment to fostering unity and collective progress. As he begins his third term as Prime Minister, this message serves as a reminder of the importance of working together as one nation, bound by shared goals and aspirations. Modi’s leadership continues to focus on driving India towards greater heights, with an emphasis on inclusivity and unity as the cornerstones of the nation’s success.

The peace of Delhi has been shattered in the aftermath of a horrific terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Reasi district. Two days after nine people, including a 2-year-old child, lost their lives in a barbaric attack on a tourist bus, Delhi Police discovered provocative graffiti in the city’s Dwarka area. The message, “Free Kashmir,” was scrawled across a park wall, sparking further tensions and security concerns in the national capital.

Tensions Rise in Delhi

The incident in Reasi was a tragic and brutal act of terrorism. The attackers opened fire on a 53-seater tourist bus bound for the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, causing the vehicle to plunge into a deep gorge near Teryath village. This heinous act resulted in nine fatalities and left 41 others injured. Among the deceased was Saurav Gupta from Delhi, who was traveling with his wife, Shivani Gupta, to pray for a child at the revered shrine. Shivani survived but sustained serious injuries, including fractures to her legs and face.

As the nation mourns the victims, Delhi has been put on high alert. The timing of the attack coincided with the swearing-in ceremony of the new government at the Centre, prompting increased security measures across the city. Police presence has been significantly ramped up at crowded locations such as malls and markets. Authorities are vigilantly monitoring for any suspicious activities to prevent further incidents.

The discovery of the “Free Kashmir” graffiti in Dwarka has added another layer of tension to the already strained atmosphere. Local residents alerted the police upon finding the inflammatory message. Promptly, officers removed the graffiti and registered a case under the Indian Penal Code and the Defacement of Property Act at Dwarka North police station. The police have initiated an investigation, forming a team to review CCTV footage in hopes of identifying and apprehending the culprits responsible for the act.

The implications of this graffiti are profound, as it touches on the highly sensitive and contentious issue of Kashmir’s political status. The slogan “Free Kashmir” is often associated with calls for independence or greater autonomy for the region, a topic that has long been a source of conflict and violence. In this context, the appearance of such graffiti in Delhi can be seen as a provocative act, potentially aimed at inciting unrest or conveying a message of resistance.

The families of the victims in Reasi are left grappling with their grief and the harsh realities of their loss. Saurav Gupta’s body was transported back to Delhi by his father and other family members. The final rites were performed near their residence in Mandoli, bringing some closure to his loved ones. However, the pain of his untimely death and the circumstances surrounding it continue to cast a shadow over his community.

The broader impact of the Reasi attack and the subsequent graffiti incident highlights the enduring challenges of terrorism and political strife in the region. It underscores the need for vigilance, robust security measures, and efforts to address the root causes of such violence. The authorities in Delhi and across the nation are tasked with ensuring public safety while also navigating the complex socio-political dynamics at play.

As the investigation into both the Reasi attack and the graffiti incident unfolds, there is a collective hope for justice and a resolution that can bring some measure of peace to the affected families. In the meantime, Delhi remains on high alert, with law enforcement agencies working tirelessly to prevent further violence and maintain order in the city.

The tragic events of recent days serve as a stark reminder of the fragile nature of security and the ever-present threat of terrorism. They also highlight the resilience of communities in the face of such adversity, as people come together to support one another and seek justice for those who have suffered.
