Kalaburagi: A light earthquake hit the district on Wednesday. An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 on the Richter scale.

Today (Wednesday) in the early hours of 9.48.16, the earth shook. Vibration is experienced for five seconds.

He said that Benakanahalli and surrounding villages of Sedam taluk of Kalaburagi district experienced tremors and people were shocked by the tremors and did not know what had happened.

Bengaluru: The day after Ugadi festival is being celebrated as “Hosathodaku” day, the Halal boycott campaign has come to the fore again.

Some pro-Hindu activists have started a campaign to make a mockery of Halal by buying meat from Hindu Meat Mart, and this is being criticized by the public.

A person named Munegowda first started Hindavi Meat Mart in the state. Munegowda had started a campaign against halal cut meat.

Under the Hindavi brand, four stores were opened in Bangalore and its outskirts. 18 stores have opened across the city this year. Munegowda said that shops have been opened in Kammanahalli, Ittamadu, Dasarahalli, Sanjay Nagar, Geddalahalli, Yelahanka, Indiranagar, Tannery Road, Horamavu, Annapurneshwari Nagar and others.

Some are criticizing such a campaign by pro-Hindu activists.

Maitreyi Krishnan, a member of NGO Bahutva Karnataka, said that such efforts by the Sangh Parivar to create communalism and divide the people cannot be tolerated.

Right now we have really oppressed workers rights, unemployment issues before us. Instead of solving these problems, efforts are being made to divide people on the basis of religion, which shows their anti-people attitude, he said.

Bidar: The incident took place on Chidri-Mylur ring road of the city on Tuesday when the accused, who was involved in various cases including theft and robbery, tried to attack the police with a knife during his arrest. Meanwhile, the CPI fired a round in the air in self-defence.

A 25-year-old youth from Irani Galli of the city is the arrested accused, while another accused is absconding. A team led by CPI Mallikarjuna Yatanur and CPI Nagendra had launched a net to arrest the accused in connection with the case of theft in the area of rural police station of the city.

During the operation, when the police tried to stop the youths who were coming suspiciously on two bikes, they not only tried to throw the bikes at the police but also tried to escape by showing a knife. At this time, the police officer and staff fired one round in the air for self-defense. On this occasion, one accused has been arrested by the police and the other is absconding. The police have laid a net for his arrest.

District Superintendent of Police Chennabasavanna Langoti informed the media about the incident, the incident took place during the operation to arrest the accused involved in the Rabri case. CPI Mallikarjuna Yatanur shot in the air in self defense when he tried to escape by pointing a knife at the police. One accused was arrested and knife and bikes were seized from him. More than 5 cases have been registered against the detainee. He said that a case has been registered in Gandhi Ganj police station regarding the incident.

Haasan: Former minister H D Rayavanna has requested the Election Commission to transfer Hasan’s sub-division DYSP Uday Bhaskar.

HD Revanna has alleged that these officers are supporting anti-social forces in the district and are targeting JDS workers.

Ravanna, who spoke at a press conference, has failed to control the rowdy forces since he took over as DYS. Revanna said that it would be difficult for district officials to conduct fair elections under the supervision of such officials.

Revanna, who has given deadline to the government till March 27 for the transfer of DYS, has warned that if the deadline is exceeded, JDS workers will stage a sit-in in front of the SP office.

In this regard, IG and Digigu Revanna have submitted a petition. Responding to the question asked by the journalists about the JD(S) candidate in the Hasna district, Revanna said that along with other constituencies, he will announce the candidate for the Hasna constituency in a few days, Devegaudru.

Meanwhile, Ravanna has expressed displeasure about the officials regarding corruption in the House of Assembly and the House of Urban Development Authority.
