“Outrage in Village Over Quick Construction of 50 Lakh Rupee Road”
Thirthahalli: The Kademane link road under Neratur Gram Panchayat of the taluk was constructed a week ago at a cost of around 50 lakhs and now the road has been taken down for a week. In this regard, the villagers have taken up the fight against the contractors who have done poor work by tearing the road tar with their hands.
Villagers gathered on the road on Thursday and expressed their anger by removing the tar road with their own hands. This is a one km connecting road from Jigalagodi to Kademane in Neratur Gram Panchayat Horani village. There are about 28 houses.
MLA Araga Gyanendra has brought the grant. But the contractors are tarnishing their name by doing poor work. Now, when tarring the road, the villagers are not informed and it is done poorly. Not even a quarter inch is tarred. Because of this, there are potholes everywhere. The district authorities and taluk authorities should immediately investigate and rectify the work. Otherwise the villagers have warned that they will protest in front of the taluk office.
In addition to the road work, the soil placed on the side of the road is also not properly placed. The soil is scattered. It will be washed away in the rainy season and will enter the drain. Villagers of the town have alleged that the road will be completely damaged due to this.
