New Delhi: In a recent development, the Delhi Police have recorded the statement of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over allegations of sexual harassment made against him. The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety and security of women in India.

According to reports, a female wrestler had filed a complaint against Singh, alleging that he had made inappropriate advances towards her during a national wrestling championship held earlier this year. The wrestler had reportedly approached the WFI officials at the time, but no action was taken against Singh.

The incident came to light when the wrestler wrote a letter to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, detailing the alleged harassment she faced at the hands of Singh. The Ministry had then directed the Delhi Police to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

In response to the allegations, Singh had denied any wrongdoing and stated that he was being framed by his opponents. However, with the police now recording his statement, the investigation is expected to shed more light on the matter.

Sexual harassment is a prevalent issue in India, with many cases going unreported due to social stigma and fear of retaliation. However, with more women speaking out against such incidents and authorities taking action, there is hope for a safer and more just society.

It is essential for organizations and institutions to have stringent policies and procedures in place to address sexual harassment and provide a safe environment for women. It is also crucial for individuals to speak out against such incidents and support the victims in their fight for justice.

The ongoing investigation into the allegations against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is a step towards ensuring accountability and justice in cases of sexual harassment. It is hoped that the outcome of the investigation will serve as a deterrent to others and send a message that such behavior will not be tolerated in any form.
