In a dramatic turn of events, senior JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar have become embroiled in a bitter war of words over an alleged sex scandal rocking Karnataka politics. The scandal centers around Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and nephew of Kumaraswamy, sending shockwaves through the state’s political landscape.

Kumaraswamy, JD(S)’s second-in-command, leveled serious accusations against Shivakumar, claiming that the latter orchestrated the circulation of incriminating videos involving Prajwal Revanna. According to Kumaraswamy, Shivakumar not only facilitated the dissemination of the videos but also spearheaded the establishment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter further.

Addressing reporters in Hubballi, Kumaraswamy emphasized the need to uncover the truth behind the circulation of the pen drive containing the controversial videos. He questioned Shivakumar’s involvement in the dissemination process and demanded answers regarding the duration of Shivakumar’s awareness of the scandal.

Meanwhile, Shivakumar vehemently denied Kumaraswamy’s allegations, accusing the JD(S) first family of targeting him unfairly. He cited previous instances where he claims to have been singled out by the JD(S) leadership, indicating a longstanding feud between the two factions.

The Karnataka government wasted no time in responding to the scandal, swiftly constituting a three-member SIT, led by Additional Director General of Police B K Singh, to investigate the allegations of sexual harassment against Prajwal Revanna. The investigation follows an FIR filed against Prajwal and his father Revanna at the Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district.

The seriousness of the allegations has not escaped Shivakumar, who emphasized the importance of upholding women’s dignity and ensuring justice for the victims. He expressed concern over the impact of the scandal on numerous families and urged swift action to address the issue.

Shivakumar also criticized BJP leaders for their silence on the Prajwal Revanna case, contrasting their response to other incidents involving women’s safety. He questioned the disparity in the BJP’s reaction, pointing out the swift response to previous incidents compared to their reluctance to address the current scandal.

As the political drama unfolds, all eyes are on the ongoing SIT investigation and the potential ramifications for both Prajwal Revanna and the warring factions within the JD(S) party. The scandal has exposed deep rifts within Karnataka’s political landscape, underscoring the high stakes involved for all parties concerned.

In a bid to create a serene atmosphere for travelers, Mangaluru International Airport has introduced a novel policy regarding passenger announcements. This transition, unveiled by airport officials, aims to revolutionize the airport experience, granting passengers the freedom to engage in various activities uninterrupted.

The focal point of this transformative shift lies in replacing the traditional public address (PA) system with the Flight Information Display System (FIDS). Strategically positioned both within and outside the terminal, these FIDS screens furnish real-time updates on flight statuses, gate alterations, and delays. These screens are supplemented by conspicuous display boards, ensuring passengers remain well-informed throughout their journey.

Moreover, the airport has bolstered its support infrastructure to cater to passenger queries effectively. From the ‘May I Help You’ Desk to customer service representatives, guest relations executives, and Pranaam staff, a dedicated team stands ready to assist travelers. Additionally, flight information is readily accessible at airline check-in counters and boarding gates.

To further streamline communication, airlines will disseminate updates via SMS to passengers’ registered email and mobile numbers. This proactive approach ensures passengers remain informed and empowered throughout their travel experience. Collaboration with airline partners underscores the commitment to providing a seamless journey for all passengers.

The overarching objective of this initiative is to elevate the travel experience, fostering a harmonious environment conducive to relaxation and productivity. PA announcements will be reserved exclusively for emergencies, thereby minimizing unnecessary disruptions.

For those seeking additional information, the airport terminal manager’s office is readily accessible, alongside direct communication channels with respective airlines. Mangaluru International Airport remains steadfast in its commitment to redefining the norms of travel, prioritizing passenger comfort and convenience above all else.
