Hyderabad: In a startling revelation, alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar has written a letter addressed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, and the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), alleging that close associates of BRS MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla and Telangana IT Minister KTR offered him a bribe of Rs 100 crore, land at Shamshabad, and a ticket in the upcoming Assembly elections. The motive behind the offer was to coerce him into retracting his statements and evidence pertaining to the Delhi Excise policy row involving leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

In the letter dated July 12, Sukesh claimed that he was threatened with dire consequences if he refused to comply with their demands. He also mentioned that a close associate and luxury shopper/stylist of KTR and Kavitha had made these statements to his family during an online communication two days ago. Sukesh asserted that he would furnish this evidence to the investigative agency.

Furthermore, Sukesh alleged that he possesses data on transactions worth Rs 2000 crore involving KTR, Kavitha, and himself, along with call recordings and chats amounting to 250 GB of data.

Seeking urgent action, Sukesh urged the Union Home Minister to refer his complaint to the CBI and requested an immediate investigation into the matter before the upcoming Assembly elections in Telangana.

The alleged conman also attached screenshots of WhatsApp chats between him and MLC Kavitha, which he claims were previously provided to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

In response to these allegations, KTR vehemently denied any involvement and expressed his intention to take strong legal action against Sukesh for his “nonsensical utterances.” In a tweet, KTR stated that he had never heard of Sukesh before and urged the media to exercise caution when publishing wild claims made by fraudsters.

Sukesh Chandrasekhar is currently detained at Delhi’s Mandoli jail on charges of extortion and money laundering, among other high-profile cases, including allegedly extorting over Rs 200 crore from the wife of a former Fortis founder.

The accusations made by Sukesh have sparked public interest, raising questions about the veracity of his claims and the potential implications for the involved political figures. The authorities are yet to respond to his letter and decide on the course of action to be taken.

Supreme Court to Review Kolkata Doctor’s Rape and Murder Case on March 17
Supreme Court of India

The Supreme Court of India, under the leadership of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, is scheduled to review the suo motu case concerning the rape and murder of a junior doctor from R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on March 17.

In August of the previous year, the Court addressed the tragic incident, emphasizing the critical need for enhanced safety measures for medical professionals nationwide. The Bench appealed to protesting doctors to resume their duties, assuring them of protection against any punitive actions related to their participation in the protests.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been actively probing the case. In October, they filed the initial charge sheet against Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer associated with Kolkata Police, implicating him in the heinous crime. The CBI‘s investigation suggests a potential broader conspiracy, highlighting concerns about evidence tampering during the early stages when the Kolkata Police were overseeing the investigation. Subsequently, two additional arrests were made: Sandip Ghosh, the former Principal of R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, and Abhijit Mondal, the former Station House Officer of Tala Police Station. Both are accused of obstructing the investigation and tampering with evidence.

The upcoming hearing on March 17 will further address these developments, underscoring the Supreme Court‘s commitment to ensuring justice and reinforcing workplace safety for medical professionals across the country.

Note: For a comprehensive understanding, readers are encouraged to refer to official Supreme Court records and updates from the Central Bureau of Investigation.
